In Torah-based leadership, we don’t tear people down — we edify. But what does “edify” truly mean?

Etymology:
Edify comes from Latin aedificare, meaning “to build a house.”
It implies construction, foundation, and structure — not flattery or emotionalism.

While Hebrew has no direct equivalent word for “edify,” it uses terms connected to building, such as:

בנה (banah) — to build, establish, repair

קם (qum) — to raise up, establish

כונן (kun) — to set firm, make stable

YAHUAH told Yirmeyahu he was set “to root out… to destroy… to build and to plant” (Jer. 1:10).
Leadership isn’t just correcting — it is constructing.

Effective edification includes:

Before a business grows, the ground must be prepared. YAHUAH teaches us that before anything can be built or planted, it must first be rooted out, pulled down, and cleared (Yirmeyahu 1:10). This applies to business strategy too.

The fallow ground of confusion, lack of structure, inconsistent systems, and unclear offers must be broken up first.

Just like the prophet Hoshea said, “Break up your tillable ground, for it is time to seek YAHUAH” (Hosea 10:12).

Today is Diabetes Awareness Day.

This topic is very dear to my heart as I like many others in the Hebrew/African American community- our relatives either are currently suffering or have succumbed to the negative affects of Sugar Diabetes.

We grew up calling it that, however this disease has more to do with your overall daily activities than your sugar intake.

Diabetes mellitus, commonly known as diabetes, is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar (glucose) levels. It occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin, does not use insulin effectively, or both.

Here are some tips on how to improve your health and prevent The DEATHLY DISEASE DIABETES>

Lifestyle Changes:
Maintain a healthy weight: Excess weight increases the risk of developing diabetes.

Eat a balanced diet: Focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and healthy fats. Limit sugary drinks, processed foods, and unhealthy fats.

Engage in regular physical activity: Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week.

Manage stress: High stress levels can contribute to insulin resistance. Find healthy ways to cope, such as exercise, yoga, or meditation.

Get enough sleep: Sleep deprivation can disrupt blood sugar levels.

Monitor blood sugar levels: If you are at risk for diabetes, consider monitoring your blood sugar levels at home.

Medical Interventions:
Talk to your doctor: If you have a family history of diabetes or are overweight or pre-diabetic, consult your doctor about preventive measures. If you have a holistic Doctor, discuss alternative care.

Consider Herbs over medication:
Get regular checkups: Regular screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels can help detect early signs of diabetes.

Quit smoking: Smoking increases the risk of diabetes.

My grandmother has been a standing fixture in my life since the day I was born. Some of my earliest memories are of her watching over me—while she watched Suzanne Somers’ ThighMaster commercial. 😄 My Grams loves to shop and always had the best mail-order magazines like Fingerhut and others. Of course, she bought that very ThighMaster… and little ole me decided to try it. Let’s just say when that spring snapped back, I learned a painful lesson that day!

Growing up, she has been someone I could always confide in—someone I’ve looked up to with the greatest honor and respect. My grandmother is a true trooper. How fitting that October is both Domestic Violence Awareness and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, because my Grams is a survivor of both.

The Most High’s hand has been upon her through every storm life has offered. Through it all, she kept her head held high, stayed in prayer, and walked devotedly with the One who saved her through and through.

Today, as she turns 81 years young, I am truly grateful that The Most High gave her to me. She is the strength of our family—a widow who takes care of herself and still shows us what resilience and grace look like.

Grams, I love you always. I’m so thankful to have you in my life. May The Most High continue to grant you the gift of long life and health for many, many more years to come.

The Mantle and the Mission..

So often when writing proposals, we tend to share all the problems we have as organizations, or ministries. That approach isn't the way to get to the WIN!

DONORS want to see through prior and current action all that you and your organization have been doing to help improve the issues of the community you serve. We aren't WINNING these proposals for simple errors as this.

Monday Motivation — Fear is Temporary, Obedience is Eternal

On the road, it’s been challenging to multitask and stay organized. Some days I’m driving overnight, trying to balance work, rest, and purpose.

One of my biggest fears has always been the fear of failing. Whatever I commit to, I give it my all — but that fear can still whisper in the background.

And then there are the mountains… ⛰️
For a long time, I avoided them because they intimidated me. But this journey has me rolling through mountain after mountain, and I’ve learned something powerful:
They’re not as impossible as they look — it was my mindset that made them seem bigger than they were.

Now, I call them “hills.” I approach them differently, and each time I pass through, my courage grows stronger.

Abbah YAH has a way of strengthening us in the very places that once scared us. Because this is now my means of income, I have no choice but to push through — even when fear shows up.

The last day of this month is here… what do we have planned for tomorrow?

Too often, people confuse planning for the future with worrying about the future. But the Scriptures remind us that we are to prepare. Preparation is rooted in expectation and belief—just as we await our Bridegroom’s return.

To prepare means to be ready, so that when the time comes, we won’t have to scramble to “get ready.” This is the power of planning ahead.

As we step into October, let’s do so with intention:

Motivation Monday!

The month of September started with some personal struggles, pain and some heartbreak.

With fasting and prayer I truly overcame some of the worst experiences of my life to date.

I recently spoke to my Grams and as she listened to my concerns she then spoke in wisdom and said "Pray about it!". I am so grateful to have prayer warriors in my life and those seeking The Most High daily. In the walk or out, they are committed to continual prayer. (Mom, Mom in law and Grams and a bunch of others)

The constant reminder to seek The Most High in all things. Pray for guidance and direction so I don't lean on my own understanding. Wait for The Most High to do what he can only do.

With prayerful reflection:
✔️ What did you accomplish in September?
✔️ What can you improve in October?

Let's set new goals and crush them by ending September strong and being ready for what October has in store! Be strong and courageous.
